Hey, it's me – let's dive into my musical world!
My background and my mindset
Welcome to my music corner here on Substack. As I’m quite new here – and you maybe too – I will let know a bit about myself, my music and my mindset:
The beginnings
I’m a Swiss singer-songwriter, with a special connection to Austria, above all Vienna. My musical tale begins in the cozy confines of my childhood room, where I'd spend hours jotting down lyrics and belting out tunes. In a hotel in Schruns, Austria, at the age of 10, I had my first “gig” by coincidence.
The '90s were a whirlwind of first studio sessions and live gigs across Germany, Austria, and Switzerland. In 1994 I had the first really big performance at a festival on the Austrian Bregenz Lake Stage with an audience of 4,000 where I gotto know and love the adrenaline flowing through my veins on stage. That was a time of wandering from producer to producer resulting in several recordings, which I presented at numerous live concerts and TV programmes. It was an exhilarating ride, but deep down, I craved something more – freedom, creativity, authenticity.

Free, creative, authentic
Therefore, in the early 2000s, I took the musical reins into my own hands and started writing my own songs. The results were the albums “intensiv” in 2004, “Eigentlich nicht” in 2007 and “Wegkreuzer” in 2018 with my own German pop songs. Meanwhile, I also took the reins for distribution and marketing completely in my own hands - happy that today's possibilities allow such independence as an indie musician.
Always staying true to myself and yet always trying out new things is my motto. With this mindset, I've been honing my recording and production skills while also expanding my network with musicians worldwide. Thus, spurred by the pandemic, I created my first home productions, e.g. “U-Boot” Musical collaborations, especially in Vienna and Paris, along with linguistic experimentation, continued in 2022 and 2023: For instance, “Westbahnhof” – a German-English production in the style of Falco, my French track “Boîte Magique” and “Punkt”, my first song in the Viennese dialect.
Support each other
Collaborate, cooperate and support each other as indie musicians to join forces, independent of the genre – that’s my mindset and is something that gave me so much during the last years. I’m so thankful for that. So my intention here on Substack is to let you have a little part of this exciting journey as an indie musician and to share also some music of other wonderful artists out there.
Until next time, keep the music playing!
Nathalie

I am amazed at how engaging and captivating the melodies of your exquisite voice are, that stick in my head all day even though I don't speak German! 🙂
Love this! And WE love Switzerland. Longing to go back. Can’t wait to see what you post here. 💖
